Recover data from hard drive (Morrisville, NC)

I have a laptop 2.5" SATA hard drive that is having some problems.

It can be seen by my computer when I hook it up via a USB adapter, but that is it. When try to open the hard drive from My Computer it just freezes and won't do anything.

I need someone that is familiar with hard drive recovery to give me an estimate for diagnosis and, if possible, recovery.
